Impulse Partners' Digital Design and Fabrication Accelerator
We are pleased to report that DotProduct has recently been accepted into Impulse Partners' Digital Design and Fabrication Accelerator. This program is designed to target strategic opportunities to:
  • Conceive, produce, and construct projects using digital tools.
  • Integrate BIM from project concept to execution stages.
  • Deploy new methods of production, inspection, and repair
(ex. robots, drones, 3D scanning, 3D printing, etc.).
As you see, this is a very appropriate fit for what we do and we look forward to working with Impulse Partners and their network to expand on our own efforts to achieve all of the above with our solutions.

New shorter range capture settings now available for LiDAR L515
Today's release of Dot3D 4.1.1 brings some new capabilities to Dot3D for Intel® RealSense™ LiDAR L515 users! A new Laser Power slider option is now available under Settings > Sensors/Cameras. Lowering the laser power now enables closer range capture with the L515 (min. range of 0.4 m). These changes are only recommended for close range capture / tracking needs. For traditional room-scale scanning and longer range capture, this setting should normally be left alone.

Dot3D™ Tip of the Month: Keep your shadow out of your 3D camera's view! Dot3D will mistake this as motion in your scene and you will struggle to maintain tracking. For situations where this is particularly challenging, we recommend the DPI Light Kit to avoid the issue entirely.
